Product note
For modern oil firing installations in a single conduit system, smaller nominal widths (DN) for the suction line are recommended, such as the DN 5 versions listed below, for flow rates of up to 10 l/h. The thus achieved ideal flow rate prevents an outgassing of the fuel oil and thus undesired burner faults. The nominal length, e.g. 1,600 mm, is the distance between the lower edge of the tank connector G1 and the suction inlet in the tank spacer. For battery tanks with non-communicating withdrawal, according to German worksheet DWA-A 791, restrictions with respect to the floating withdrawal exist. It is not allowed if
  • a foot valve or backflow preventer is prescribed in the certificate of suitability for intended use according to the federal state building ordinance or
  • it is an underground tank.
Exception: A floating withdrawal is admissible if, in underground tanks, possibly inflowing water is detected, e.g. by means of a leak detection system.
